Individual Therapy

Having dedicated one-on-one attention is a game-changer. How many people do you know who hire a personal trainer, financial advisor, tutor, or life coach? You’re not a number, you’re a face, a person. You are an individual with a unique place in this world, purposed to do great things!

Right now, you might feel like you don’t have the energy, but the truth is that you can’t let another moment pass by without addressing the person you’ll live with for the rest of your life: YOU. Individual therapy offers specialized focus on the goals that matter to you.

I’ll spend significant time getting to know you. I’m interested in what your family was like as a kid, how your family is now, when your problems began, and who you’ve become so far. I’ll ask about stories you have regarding the important people of your life. And then we’ll spend some time connecting how those past events have shaped your current reality. We’ll identify small shifts you can make to completely change your world for good. Ultimately, we’ll bring relief to those painful places that are impacting you today.

Faith-based Therapy

You might be thinking if you’re going to do this counseling thing, you want someone who believes about God the way that you do. What good is personal growth if it’s not based on a solid foundation, right? I believe that the Gospel is for everyone and that informs the way that I provide a safe space for everyone entering my office.

My active faith-walk informs how I see each person and if you are looking for someone who has a relationship with Jesus Christ and yet is still human and very real, I definitely fit that category. No pretenses. No quick fixes that really make you feel worse because life isn’t that easy and what you struggle with isn’t that simple. Just solid compassion that is based on the love of Christ…and we’ll laugh a bit, too.

I pray for my clients regularly, knowing that I alone do not hold all the answers, but am led by the Holy Spirit to provoke in you the change you’re seeking. It’s His guidance that ultimately heals you. He just happens to tell me what to say and how to respond to you.

Group Therapy

Group therapy is a powerful experience. You come to a group of people just like you…they’ve felt what you feel, they struggle with the same things you do, and yet they offer kindness from someone who’s not paid to care. When your story intersects with their story, all of you can be healed. I offer groups for survivors of childhood sexual abuse as interest is indicated. We use the book and workbook by Dan Allender, Healing the Wounded Heart. (Find it here: https://theallendercenter.org/store/)

Through the use of the materials, we’ll share stories that have impacted us greatly. When we share the nitty-gritty of what happened, we are in a unique place to receive compassion, insight, and a new perspective that gives us more life than we had before. Others in the group will respond with how they feel about your story, what they see to be true about it, and give you a chance to receive goodness in the midst of pain.

Please call or email me to let me know of your interest in the next group.
